Neutering

   

Once at F.A.I.T.H. our animals are wormed, vaccinated where appropriate and all cats and dogs are micro-chipped and neutered. We are one of the few charities that neuter both sexes. Some animal welfare organisations do not have a full neutering policy. However, the CPL and NCDL - both experts in their field - implement and totally support full neutering.

    
   
   
    However I believe F.A.I.T.H. is the only charity that follows up to make sure any un-neutered puppies or kittens have been neutered at the time stated. We should receive a neutering certificate back within a couple of weeks of the time of writing on the certificate, if not we contact the adopter - refer to their contract and see that it is done.  All female puppies and kittens are neutered before leaving the rescue centre.  The only way to stop this continued slaughter of cats and dogs is for animal welfare organisations to acknowledge the importance of neutering and implement their beliefs.  I believe only rescue centres that have a neutering policy should be allowed to call themselves "Rescue Centres" others should just be "Rehoming Kennels."  There are many boarding kennels that make their money by selling second-hand dogs and don't do anything to ensure the animal's welfare.  Some won't even take the dog back if there is a problem, and the people they sold it to a week earlier no longer want it.  These kennels can and do call themselves "Rescue."    
         
   
It is vital to the quest to reduce the numbers of unwanted animals and to stop the otherwise preventable slaughter of dogs and cats that goes on everyday in this country.
   
         
   
This is why F.A.I.T.H. believe so deeply in full neutering and it is hoped that this practice will be imposed on all animal welfare charities to reduce the number of unwanted creatures.
